Achieving the rank of Major, Special Ground Unit Force
for the U.S. Government, for nine years he served in a variety of command
positions relating to pilot air/ground control, transportation, and evacuation
of wounded personnel. His senior position was as load master for air cargo
drops and support of field personnel, a position made nearly impossible by
the crush of civilian refugees
at the moment of U.S. force withdrawal from Southeast Asia.
On his entry to the U.S., Mr. Moua completed night programs for general school while attending Northeast Metro Technical College, leading to Chef Training and Bookkeeping degrees. Thereafter he took a position as a Sample Coordinator for the St. Paul firm Arden Fasteners, where he once again served as a logistics officer, organizing work programs, shipping and cost summaries, and where he also served as liaison officer between inside/outside sales staff.
Active in community affairs, Mr. Moua has been Chairman
of the Nong Khai Refugee Camp, Volunteer Interpreter and Coordinator of Food
for the Hungry in Ban Vinai Camp and more recently Board Member of the Lao
Family Community of Minnesota and also President of the United Lao Movement
for Democracy in Minnesota.
